Resumo: This concepts about people with visual impairment, blindness and low vision, a brief history about special education in Brazil and explanations of the origin and structure of Braille. Based on the conceptualization, the Pedagogic Support Center of the State of Espírito Santo is presented, emphasizing the work that it does in the support to students with visual deficiency of the state public network. The relevance of the CAP / ES is justified in the results obtained in the interviews applied to teachers, students and family, showing the importance of the Center in the cognitive and social development of the visually impaired person. After analyzing the theoretical framework and the interviews carried out, it was verified that the pedagogical support of the CAP / ES is essential for the school development of its students, giving them opportunities and a sense of citizenship, thus being an indispensable tool for access to a quality and inclusive education.
