Abstract: This study investigates the main urban challenges faced by Ana Pena de Faria
Avenue located in the Limoeiro neighborhood in Caratinga, MG. The main objective
of this work is to analyze the infrastructure of the avenue and develop guidelines and
proposals aimed at improving the urban space of the area. Through research using a
diversified methodology, including literature review, fieldwork, and photographic
survey, it was possible to analyze aspects of infrastructure, accessibility, and
landscaping of the avenue, noting the lack of sidewalk maintenance, absence of
greenery, shortage of urban furniture, and various accessibility issues. Comparative
analysis with similar urban revitalization projects provided valuable insights for
suggesting possible interventions to be carried out on-site, such as promoting
greenery and installing adequate urban furniture to create a more inclusive and
pleasant environment. These initiatives will contribute to the quality of life of residents
and visitors, strengthening the role of the avenue as a vital center for the Caratinga
community.
Description: Este estudo investiga os principais desafios urbanísticos enfrentados pela
Avenida Ana Pena de Faria localizada no Bairro Limoeiro em Caratinga, MG. O
principal objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a infraestrutura da via e desenvolver
diretrizes e propostas buscando a melhoria do espaço urbano do local. Por meio de
pesquisa com metodologia diversificada, incluindo revisão de literatura, trabalho de
campo e levantamento fotográfico foi possível analisar aspectos de infraestrutura,
acessibilidade e paisagismo da via, constatando a falta de manutenção das
calçadas, ausência de arborização, escassez de mobiliário urbano e diversos
problemas de acessibilidade. A análise comparativa com projetos similares de
revitalização urbana ofereceu percepções valiosas para indicação de possíveis
intervenções a serem realizadas no local como: promover a arborização e instalar
mobiliário urbano adequado, visando criar um ambiente mais inclusivo e agradável.
Essas iniciativas contribuirão para a qualidade de vida dos moradores e visitantes,
fortalecendo o papel da avenida como um centro vital para a comunidade de

Abstract: This course completion work aims to identify public spaces in small communities and
the role of the architect and urban planner in the reintegration and valorization of these
places. Social architecture plays an essential role in understanding the growth of cities
and neighborhoods in order to propose alternatives and projects capable of meeting
population demand. The research uses as its object of study an open area at the end
of Rua Radialista Nailton Gomes, in the Santa Isabel community, Santa Cruz
neighborhood, in the city of Caratinga – MG, where there is a football field and a space
capable of promoting greater social interaction and sports practices for residents. The
objective is to develop an urban project on land in the present community, taking into
account studies of the site and its impacts on society. To this end, the research adopts
methods in order to develop the work, where documentary research was carried out in
public and private bodies and also field visits to understand the routine and
observations of local daily life, mappings and studies based on such procedures. The
data obtained through the interpretation of the methodology shows the absence of
public policies and professionals in the area of architecture and urbanism for the
correct development of the cities and neighborhoods that make it up, in addition to the
need of the Santa Isabel community for the creation of a public space that meets the
demands of the local population, providing well-being, sporting activities, social
interaction and belonging on the part of residents who are part of the city.
Description: Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como finalidade a identificação de espaços
públicos em pequenas comunidades e o papel do arquiteto e urbanista para
reintegração e valorização destes locais. A arquitetura social desempenha um papel
essencial para compreender o crescimento de cidades e bairros afim de propor
alternativas e projetos capazes de atender a demanda populacional. A pesquisa utiliza
como objeto de estudo uma área aberta no final na rua Radialista Nailton Gomes, na
comunidade Santa Isabel, bairro Santa Cruz, na cidade de Caratinga – MG, onde
possui um campo de futebol e um espaço capaz de promover maior convívio social e
práticas esportivas aos moradores. Tendo como objetivo a elaboração de um projeto
urbano em um terreno na presente comunidade levando em consideração estudos do
local e seus impactos na sociedade. Para tal, a pesquisa adota métodos a fim de
desenvolver o trabalho, onde foram realizadas pesquisas documentais em órgãos
públicos, privados e também visitas em campo para conhecimento da rotina e
observações do cotidiano local, mapeamentos e estudos a partir de tais
procedimentos. Os dados obtidos através da interpretação da metodologia mostram a
ausência de políticas públicas e de profissionais da área da arquitetura e urbanismo
para o correto desenvolvimento das cidades e dos bairros que a compõe, além da
necessidade da comunidade Santa Isabel pela criação de um espaço público que
atenda as demandas da população local, proporcionando bem estar, atividades
esportivas, convívio social e pertencimento por parte dos moradores ao local que

Abstract: This conclusion work addresses the Monsenhor Rocha Home for the
Elderly as its object of study and also the study of people's aging. The number of
people aged 65 or over has increased significantly in Brazil, and in Caratinga it is
estimated that around 8% of the population is made up of elderly people.
However, the number of specialized centers to accommodate these people is
limited. The Monsenhor Rocha Elderly Home houses around 80 people, offering
medical care, social assistance and activities such as crafts workshops. However,
the space presents problems with humidity and bed distribution. It aims to analyze
the importance of improving the quality of life of the elderly at the Lar dos Idosos
Monsenhor Rocha. We sought to identify weaknesses and explore the potential
of the site for improvement. The methodology used was the collection of
information from the surrounding area, visits to the site, guidance on various
comfort issues, literary review, analysis of results, field research, analytical maps,
and detailed surveys. It is expected that this research will contribute to the
visibility of the residents of Lar dos Idosos Monsenhor Rocha and the elderly
class in general, and that the updated project will bring significant improvements
to the place, promoting a better quality of life for the elderly.
Description: O número de pessoas com 65 anos ou mais tem aumentado
significativamente no Brasil, e em Caratinga estima-se que cerca de 8% da
população seja composta por idosos. No entanto, o número de centros
especializados para acolhimento dessas pessoas é limitado. O Lar dos Idosos
Monsenhor Rocha abriga cerca de 80 assistidos, oferecendo atendimento
médico, assistência social e atividades como oficinas de artesanato. Porém, o
espaço apresenta problemas de umidade e distribuição inadequada dos leitos.
Possui como objetivo levantar as potencialidades e deficiências no espaço de
estudo visando à melhora a qualidade de vida dos idosos no Lar dos Idosos
Monsenhor Rocha. Buscou-se identificar fragilidade e explorou-se as
potencialidades. Como metodologia, foi utilizado a coleta de informações do
entorno, visitas ao local, medições do quesito conforto diverso, revisão literária,
análise dos resultados, pesquisa de campo, mapas analíticos, e levantamentos
arquitetônicos. Espera-se que esta pesquisa contribua para a visibilidade dos

Abstract: This course conclusion work presents a study on sports architecture, emphasizing the
need to practice physical activities in the quality of life of men and in the reduction of
cardiovascular and obesity-related diseases, also striving to show the importance of
the architect and urbanist's role for improving environments focused on sport and
leisure. The aim of this research is to present instructions through the elaboration of
design guidelines, examining the object of study, the Ginásio Poliesportivo Armando
Alves da Silva in the city of Caratinga, Minas Gerais, as it is the only active public
space in the city dedicated to sports. To achieve this goal, we carried out bibliographic
research in primary and secondary sources, analysis using photos and maps of the
land and surroundings and study of other public places for sport and leisure. The
results reveal the need to requalify the object of study, since the pathologies found are
easy to repair, highlighting the possibility of increasing the site's capacity with the
insertion of new equipment and functionalities, with priority being a greater use of the
site and accessibility. Given the results, we can conclude that the requalification of the
Multi-Sports Gymnasium increased its use and appreciation for the community,
emphasizing the crucial role of physical exercise in promoting the community's well being and quality of life.
Description: Este trabalho de conclusão de curso apresenta um estudo sobre arquitetura esportiva,
salientando a necessidade da prática de atividades físicas na qualidade de vida dos
homens e na redução de doenças cardiovasculares e relacionadas a obesidade,
igualmente empenha-se em mostrar a importância da atuação do arquiteto urbanista
para a melhora em ambientes voltados para o esporte e lazer. O objetivo desta
pesquisa é apresentar instruções por meio da elaboração de diretrizes projetuais,
examinando o objeto de estudo, o Ginásio Poliesportivo Armando Alves da Silva da
cidade de Caratinga, Minas Gerais, por ser o único espaço público ativo na cidade
destinado à pratica esportiva. Para alcançar esse objetivo, realizamos pesquisa
bibliográficas em fontes primárias e secundárias, análise através de fotos e mapas do
terreno e entorno e estudo de outros locais públicos voltados para o esporte e lazer.
Os resultados revelam a necessidade de requalificação do objeto de estudo, visto que
as patologias encontradas são de fácil reparo, destacando a possibilidade de aumento
da capacidade do local com a inserção de novos equipamento e funcionalidades,
tendo como prioridade o maior aproveitamento do local e acessibilidade. Diante dos
resultados, podemos concluir que a requalificação do Ginásio Poliesportivo aumentará
sua utilização e valorização para a comunidade, enfatizando o papel crucial do
exercício físico na promoção do bem-estar e da qualidade de vida da comunidade.2024-12-11T00:00:00Z
