dc.description	Pretende-se nesse artigo verificar os fatores que levam o estudante a reingressar o estudo na escola regular, e se a mesma está apta para atender essa nova modalidade de ensino básico da EJA. Com a finalidade de embasar nosso artigo buscamos abordar aspectos legais e teóricos, a fim de fortalecer o tema proposto e apresentar as peculiaridades da modalidade de ensino EJA. O problema central da pesquisa é analisar se as práticas desenvolvidas pelos professores contribuem para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Teoricamente sustentamos as discussões em Freire (1996,1998 1999; 2005). A pesquisa é de caráter qualitativo, por meio da qual buscamos compreender o contexto investigado, por meio de observações e de entrevistas com professores, equipe pedagógica e estudantes. A pesquisa foi realizada em escola municipal que oferta EJA em Serra/ES. Dentre os resultados destacamos que a modalidade de ensino EJA é vista como um grande desafio para os professores, sobretudo no que tange à flexibilidade do currículo no sentido de atender as reais necessidades dos estudantes e assim contribuir com sua permanência na escola.	pt_BR
dc.description.abstract	The purpose of this article is to verify the factors that lead the student to rejoin the study in the regular school, and if it is fit to attend this new modality of basic 23 education of the EJA. In order to base our article, we seek to address legal and theoretical aspects in order to strengthen the proposed theme and present the peculiarities of the EJA teaching modality. The central problem of the research is to analyze if the practices developed by the teachers contribute to the process of teaching and learning. Theoretically we hold the discussions in Freire (1996,1998 1999, 2005). The research is qualitative, through which we seek to understand the context investigated, through observations and interviews with teachers, pedagogical staff and students. The research was carried out in municipal school that offers EJA in Serra / ES. Among the results, we highlight that the EJA teaching modality is a great challenge for teachers, especially regarding the flexibility of the curriculum in order to meet the real needs of students and thus contribute to their permanence in school.	pt_BR
