Abstract:
This article aims to identify the importance of Physical Education for the inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The practice of Physical Education contributes to the process of interaction, improvement of the interpersonal relationship and also to the cognitive and motor development of the student with ASD. The methodology used to carry out this study was qualitative research and the instrument of data collection for bibliographic research in books, academic journals, scientific articles, Brazilian legislation. A survey was made of materials on Autistic Spectrum Syndrome, Adapted Physical Education and the contribution of Physical Education to the inclusion of the student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The results of this investigation indicate that Physical Education can contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of a child with ASD by means of the expansion of the cognitive, affective and motor abilities, besides helping in the process of socialization and inclusion of this student in the school space.

Esse artigo tem como objetivo identificar a importância da Educação Física para a inclusão do aluno com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA). A prática de Educação Física contribui para o processo de interação, melhoria da relação interpessoal e ainda para o desenvolvimento cognitivo e motor do aluno com TEA. A metodologia utilizada para a realização desse estudo foi a pesquisa qualitativa e o instrumento de coleta de dados a pesquisa bibliográfica em livros, revistas acadêmicas, artigos científicos, legislação brasileira. Foi feito um levantamento de materiais sobre Síndrome do Espectro Autista, Educação Física Adaptada e a contribuição da Educação Física para a inclusão do aluno com Transtorno do Espectro Autista. Os resultados dessa investigação apontam que a Educação Física pode contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade de vida de uma criança com TEA seja por meio da ampliação das habilidades cognitiva, afetiva e motora, além de auxiliar no processo de socialização e inclusão desse aluno no espaço escolar.
