DISTINTAS PERCEPÇÕES EM DOAÇÃO DE ÓRGÃOS: UMA REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA

Abstract

Different perceptions on organ donation and fundraising exist and although this subject is little discussed in social groups, helping people to accept to be an organ donor of family members is essential. The objective was to perform a literature review on the results, discussions and conclusions of articles about the perceptions of being or not an organ donor. Exploratory bibliographic review, with reading of articles published between 2009 and 2019, where a content analysis was performed of all the material composed and relevant to the object of study. The research allowed the understanding of the main reasons for the low rate of donations, serving as a basis for the elaboration of proposals that reduce these factors. The donation process involves several conflicts, such as the meaning of death, religion and the will of the deceased. For these reasons, it is difficult to convince the family to accept the donation. The nurse's role is to pass information and comfort to these family members. in order to make them feel safe and understand the importance of this act. It was found that most refusals occur because of misinformation about the process, because of this it is necessary to parameterize the processes and support to family members. It is concluded that it is necessary to carry out informative campaigns in order to disclose the magnitude of the act of giving, offering information to patients and family members, the nurse has a fundamental role in this process acting as a mediator of information and support throughout the donation process.
