DEPRESSÃO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO JUNTO AOS ENFERMEIROS DO CTI DE UM HOSPITAL PÚBLICO NO MUNICÍPIO DE SERRA - ES

Abstract

This research seeks to discuss about depression, based on a case study with nurses in the ICU sector of a public hospital in the city of Serra-ES, with the objective of presenting the factors that have contributed to the increase. of cases among health professionals and specifically among nursing professionals. This concern is justified because depression is considered one of the biggest mental health problems in the world and is present in the daily life of society, regardless of social class, also increasingly affecting the set of professionals with high level of stress as is the case of health, impacting not only on the individual's quality of life, but also on their social and professional aspects. The research had a case study by conducting interviews with ten nurses from a public hospital, where it was possible to identify the factors that have contributed to the increase of depression among these professionals and pointed means that can contribute to this reduction. In conclusion, the data obtained may not only contribute to the reduction of the problem, but also in the quality of life of these professionals, avoiding the removal of their duties, and consequently valuing the role of this professional within the context of public health in Brazil.
