Abstract:

Leprosy is a disease known since ancient times due to its ability to cause physical and motor deformities, especially Virchowiana as the most serious form, being very discriminated by society and the family. This study aimed to describe the role of nurses in the family health strategy and describe the main characteristics of leprosy. This is a descriptive and exploratory research, with a qualitative focus, in which an interview was conducted with the nurses working in the leprosy program in the municipality of Serra. The importance of the nurse's role can be seen since he continued prolonged contact with the community and consequently the patients suspected of leprosy play a very relevant role since he is responsible for the first care, evaluation, guidance and execution in the treatment, monitoring and evolution of the patient, as well as all family members and their social cycle. It plays an important role in the care of leprosy and its complications, especially in the method of choice of approach with the patient and his / her family

A hanseníase é uma doença conhecida desde a antiguidade devida a sua capacidade de causar deformidades físicas e motoras, em especial a virshowiana por ser a forma mais grave, sendo muito discriminada pela sociedade e pela família. Este trabalho visou descrever a atuação do enfermeiro da estratégia da saúde de família e descrever as principais características da hanseníase. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória, com enfoque qualitativo, onde se realizou entrevistas com as enfermeiras que atuam no programa de Hanseníase do município de serra. Foram entrevistados 2 enfermeiras, as quais realizam as consultas de enfermagem no atendimento ao paciente com hanseníase. Pode-se perceber a importância da atuação do enfermeiro, pois ele mantém um contato prolongado com a comunidade e conseqüentemente os pacientes suspeitos da hanseníase e desempenha um papel de grande relevância, uma vez que ele é responsável pelo primeiro atendimento, avaliação, orientação e execução no tratamento, acompanhamento e na evolução do paciente, assim como a todos os membros da família e de seu ciclo social. O mesmo possui um papel importante nos cuidados da hanseníase e suas complicações, principalmente no método de escolha da abordagem com o paciente e sua família.
