dc.description	No presente trabalho objetivou-se revisar aspectos da senescência e a percepção de institucionalização acerca idosos, considerando os sentimentos de solidão e da depressão vivenciados antes e depois da entrada em instituições de cuidados. Nesse contexto, visa evidenciar quais os possíveis efeitos positivos e negativos da institucionalização. Logo, adaptar-se a vivenciar sofrimentos ao lado de desconhecidos, especificamente saber se a institucionalização traz melhoria ou, ao contrário, provoca uma maior segregação. Consiste numa revisão sistemática nos quais foram analisados artigos publicados na base de dados da Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) entre 2010 e 2015. Os resultados desta pesquisa direcionaram-nos, a partir da literatura científica, a compreender que o próprio processo de institucionalização favorece o aumento dos sentimentos de solidão dos idosos. Portanto, a revisão de literatura possibilitou a construção de uma síntese do conhecimento acerca do tema, permitindo compreender alguns desafios que permeiam o universo do idoso institucionalizado, e que independentemente das características e da qualidade da diversidade de atividades da instituição, a percepção de solidão e apoio varia de sujeito para sujeito. Contudo, a existência ou a falta de algum apoio familiar, ajudam na forma de adaptação à instituição e na maneira de encarar a vida e as suas adversidades.	pt_BR
dc.description.abstract	This study aimed to review aspects of senescence and the perception of institutionalization about the elderly, considering the feelings of loneliness and depression experienced before and after entering care institutions. In this context, it aims to highlight the possible positive and negative effects of institutionalization. Therefore, adapting to experiencing suffering alongside strangers specifically to know whether institutionalization brings improvement or, on the contrary, causes greater segregation. It consists of a systematic review in which articles published in the database of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCiELO) between 2010 and 2015 were analyzed. The results of this research led us, from the scientific literature, to understand that the institutionalization process itself favors the increase in feelings of loneliness among the elderly. Therefore, the literature review enabled the construction of a synthesis of knowledge on the subject, allowing to understand some challenges that permeate the universe of institutionalized elderly and that regardless of the characteristics and quality of the diversity of activities of the institution, the perception of loneliness and support varies from subject to subject. However, the existence or lack of some type of family support helps in the way of adapting to the institution and in the way of facing life and its adversities.	pt_BR
