CIMENTAÇÃO DE LAMINADOS CERÂMICOS ULTRAFINOS COM RESINAS PRÉ AQUECIDAS: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Abstract

This research presents a literature review on a current topic on the cementation of ultra-thin ceramic laminates with preheated resins. Ceramic laminates were created by Charles Pincus in 1938 and with the evolution of research, these materials acquired mechanical resistance and optical characteristics with an extremely thin thickness. Today they are known as dental contact lenses, made using glassy ceramics rich in silica, with feldspar and/or lithium disilicate as main constituents. The research had as general objective to understand the possible applications of preheated resins in the cementation of indirect ultrathin ceramic restorations, having as specific objective, to describe the optical behavior, also punctuating the mechanical behavior and its color stability over time. The methodology adopted in the research was a qualitative approach, being descriptive, using the literature review in the bibliographic survey, where 16 articles were found between the years 2015-2020, which met the research objectives. The findings in the literature point out that preheated composite resins are increasingly present in clinics as an option for cementing agents, thus it is important to obtain in-depth knowledge about their clinical characteristics. The introduction of dental ceramics with better mechanics and physical properties led to an increase in their use, leading to several benefits. Ceramic veneers, in addition to having high clinical success, due to their optical properties are highly economical. Due to these factors, fluid composite resins are used to cement ceramic veneers. In this sense, the research now carried out was of paramount importance as it is a new subject in the field of dentistry, and for this reason, there are few studies, many are still in progress. It understands that this research is not exhaustive here, given the importance of the theme for the field of dentistry, so it is expected that the subject is the subject of further research by the scientific academy.
