Abstract:
Está pesquisa bibliográfica tem como tema a eutanásia sob o olhar da bioética. Seus objetivos são compreender se a prática da eutanásia se dá enquanto solução para o sofrimento humano ou auxilio ao suicídio e descrever a prática através de uma perspectiva psicológica, bem como o papel do psicólogo diante dessa possibilidade. A prática da eutanásia está se tornando mais comum em alguns países como
Holanda, Uruguai, Bélgica, Colômbia, EUA e Suíça, o que torna-se ainda mais importante compreender a confiabilidade de tais estudos. No Brasil, no entanto, não é permitida e a Constituição Federal corrobora tão posicionamento, uma vez que defende a vida como causa pétrea em seu Art. 5o. Porém existe a lei no 10.241 de 1999 em São Paulo que concede ao enfermo o direito de recusar o tratamento, mesmo que isso lhe cause morte. Essa pesquisa trouxe como resultados que a discussão sobre o tema é necessária tanto para a estimulação do conhecimento sobre o tema, como também por sua complexidade e envolvimento com diferentes aspectos da vida humana, como questões éticas, morais, religiosas, legais. É uma prática que demanda cuidado tanto com o paciente, como com seus familiares e a equipe de atendimento e acompanhamento da situação deve ser multidisciplinar. O psicólogo deve fazer parte dessa equipe e ter sua atuação pautada no cuidado e acolhimento dos envolvidos, de modo a auxiliar os mesmos na compreensão,
aceitação e tomada de decisão.
