CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA E OS EFEITOS NO COMPORTAMENTO EM DECORRÊNCIA DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19

Abstract

The general objective of the article is to identify the effects and consequences generated in the behavior of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This research consisted of a literature review in publications guided by the TEA in the context of the pandemic. For this production, Brazilian articles published in the years 2020 to 2022 were used, among other instruments considered relevant to conceptualize and support the research. The analyzes showed changes in the behavior of autistic individuals, caused by the unexpected change in the family routine, such as increased anxiety, irritability, stress, aggression, inefficiency in sleep and food deregulation. Simultaneously, the observations also point out that the changes had beneficial effects, due to living with the family and the interaction activities adapted for their children. Finally, the results are essential for further studies and planning of strategies and public policies that specifically address the autistic population in coping with stressful events.
