MERCADO LIVRE DE ENERGIA: A EXPANSÃO DO MERCADO LIVRE DE ENERGIA AO CONSUMIDOR RESIDENCIAL

Abstract

The free energy market, also known as a business model that allows companies to negotiate and purchase electricity directly from generators, leaving aside the purchase from a local distributor. This type of business generally occurs between large companies and large consumers. Recently, there has been discussion of expanding this model to the residential sector, which represents a large portion of electricity consumption. With the increase in the search for alternatives to reduce electricity costs, the viability of the free market for residential consumers becomes relevant. This study aims to analyze the expansion of the free energy market for homes in Brazil, through a bibliographic review carried out in several databases. The research seeks to understand the opportunities and challenges of this implementation, considering regulatory, technological, economic and environmental aspects.
