Abstract:
It deals with the role of the Pedagogical Support Center of the State of Espirito Santo
(CAP / ES) in the education of blind students with low vision of the public network based
on a bibliographical review and interviews given by relatives, students and teachers in
which they report their with the CAP / ES. It also presents a brief Brazilian history of the
education of people with disabilities and of the Center itself. It also presents explanations
about the origin and structure of Braille as well as methodologies used in inclusive
education for people with visual impairment and low vision. Describes the
conceptualization of these terms clearly. It reveals the need for more investment in
inclusive education, both in appropriate materials and in the training of teachers,
especially those who work in inclusive education.
