Abstract:
O sistema elétrico de potência está sujeito a constantes perturbações, resultado
das mudanças aleatórias de cargas, devido a falhas de causas naturais, de
equipamentos ou humanas. As atuações dos equipamentos de proteção devem ser
rápidas e precisas, visando eliminar tais defeitos e promover a continuidade do
fornecimento de energia. Os motores de média tensão são largamente utilizados em
aplicações nas indústrias, e tornam-se equipamentos vulneráveis as perturbações do
sistema elétrico de potência ou defeitos inerentes do motor, devido a sua importância
nos processos produtivos e fabril, proteções efetivas garantem seu funcionamento em
operação e prolongam sua vida útil. Portanto o uso dos relés microprocessados,
permitem não somente funções de proteção, mas também funções de supervisão e
controle, que auxiliam em ações preventivas e corretivas através de relatórios de
falhas e alarmes. Este trabalho apresenta as principais funções de proteção
disponíveis em relés microprocessados para aplicação em motores de média tensão.
Através de um estudo de caso em uma Usina de separação de ar, apresenta os
resultados de uma aplicação de relé microprocessado em um motor de média tensão,
por meio de análise dos relatórios e eventos operacionais.
