Abstract:
O objetivo do trabalho é levar melhorias à vida de aproximadamente 500 animais que vivem provisoriamente a espera de adoções no canil municipal da cidade de Juiz de Fora em Minas Gerais, propondo o ambiente mais agradável e convidativo, para que as pessoas visitem o local.
A metodologia do trabalho contou com revisão bibliográfica, visitas em campo e levantamentos no Canil Municipal de Juiz de Fora, conversa com a coordenadora do DESCAM (departamento de Controle Animal do Departamento Municipal), Miriam Nader, que atua na administração do canil municipal e que se envolve nos processos de denúncias e recolhimento de animais, estudos de caso com projetos relacionados ao tema no exterior e no país, diagnóstico do lugar com análises urbanas do entorno e análise das relações biofísicas e socioculturais e partido projetual para o projeto proposto.
A análise feita sobre se seria viável a readequação do atual canil municipal de Juiz de Fora, deu-se através do avanço no pensamento em defender os direitos dos animais, visando dar-lhes uma melhor perspectiva de vida, cumprindo as leis Estaduais e Municipais existentes. A visibilidade, na internet, dos acontecimentos cruéis no tratamento aos animais, estão causando revolta e mobilização para criação de novas leis ambientais, reforçando o processo de punição aos infratores. A vivencia no meio de tanto abandono e maus tratos, trouxe o aumento de pessoas que se preocupam em resolver a situação atual dos animais, fazendo com que surge muitos voluntários, para apoiar a causa.
Concluindo que o abandono é a principal causa de animais nas ruas e consequentemente da superpopulação nos canis, causando uma preocupação para o poder público na saúde das cidades. Portanto, a castração legal, informação adequada e fiscalização de canis procriadores, ajudam a manter uma cidade com mais socialização de pessoas e animais queridos nas ruas.
