Abstract:
Osteonecrosis is bone necrosis due to a lack of blood supply, and medication-related
jaw osteonecrosis is a rare and serious adverse effect of antiangiogenic and/or
antiresorptive therapies. This study aimed to review the literature on
Medication-Induced Osteonecrosis of the Jaws, emphasizing therapeutic strategies
applied in established scenarios of jaw osteonecrosis, along with exploring methods
for preventing necrotic bone exposure in essential surgical intervention situations.
For the active and preventive treatment of this condition, therapeutic approaches
such as laser therapy, ozone therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and the use of
leukocyte-platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) can be adopted. However, it is important to note
that this condition lacks a defined treatment protocol due to its complex management
and relatively recent origin.
Description:
No tratamento ativo e preventivo
desta condição, é possível adotar abordagens terapêuticas como laserterapia,
ozonioterapia, terapia de oxigênio hiperbárico, utilização fibrina leucoplaquetária
(PRF).
