Abstract:
Vaccination coverage is essential for both individual and collective protection, especially
when comparing cost and effectiveness. Today, we know its great importance as a health
indicator for the quality of primary care and disease prevention, making it essential to study
it. This is a descriptive study with a temporal trend that describes the rate of childhood
vaccination immunization in João Monlevade - MG, from zero to 12 months of life, comparing
the previous years of the pandemic period (2017 to 2019), in relation to the years of 2020,
2021 and 2022 of BCG immunovaccination coverage using secondary database through
DATASUS, using as a parameter the rate recommended by the PNI. As a result, it can be
seen that there was a sudden reduction in childhood vaccination coverage during the
pandemic, in which the lowest BCG average was 69.95% in 2021, but in the years going
back to that date, there was little fluctuation in the vaccination rate, proving the effects of the
COVID-19 pandemic on the immunization of children in the city.

A cobertura vacinal é indispensável para a proteção tanto individual quanto coletiva,
principalmente quando comparamos custo e efetividade. Hoje, sabe-se da grande
importância como indicador de saúde para a qualidade da atenção primária e prevenção de
agravos, tornando-se imprescindível estudá-la. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo de
tendência temporal que descreve a taxa de imunização vacinal infantil de João Monlevade -
MG, de zero até 12 meses de vida, comparando os anos anteriores ao período de pandemia
(2017 a 2019), em relação aos anos de 2020, 2021 e 2022 da cobertura vacinal do imuno
BCG utilizando base de dados secundários através do DATASUS, tendo como parâmetro a
taxa preconizada pelo PNI. Com o resultado observa-se que ocorreu uma redução brusca
na cobertura vacinal infantil durante a pandemia, no qual a menor média da BCG foi com
69,95% no ano de 2021, porém nos anos que retrocedem tal data, foi apresentado pouca
oscilação da taxa vacinal, comprovando os efeitos da pandemia da COVID-19 sob a
imunização dos infantis da cidade.
