Abstract

The present work brings reading in the early years and its importance as a theme. It also discusses the effectiveness of using projects with active methodologies that awaken students. As a general objective, it is mentioned emphasizing the importance of reading practice in the formation of a critical reader, aiming to improve their social relations through projects with active methodologies. With the main focus on active methodologies, our intention is the practical activity whose objective is to awaken in students in the early years a taste for reading, the ability to understand and learn the content of texts and to develop the ability to transcribe them coherently, for that we will use the work of the author Ana Maria Machado. The research has an exploratory and bibliographic nature and points out as discussion and results the relevance of the teacher in this process for the formation of critical and autonomous readers to act in today's society. There is a need to awaken interest in reading so that these future readers understand the functionalities that the mastery of reading a text can expand from the classroom to everyday life.
