dc.description	A violência psicológica é um tipo de abuso que acontece por meio de palavras e atitudes, tendo como tema o sofrimento psicológico em mulheres vítimas de violência, o trabalho tem como objetivo falar sobre a raiz da violência, percepção da violência pelas vítimas, a permanência em relações abusivas, transtornos mentais causados em vítimas da violência e o papel do profissional da psicologia como apoio para as vítimas da violência. A pesquisa académica foi feita por meio de revisão bibliográfica. Sendo assim a legislação brasileira, com destaque para a Lei Maria da Penha, define a violência psicológica como qualquer ato que prejudique o desenvolvimento emocional e a autonomia da mulher, comprometendo sua saúde mental. Assim, observa-se que, apesar de avanços, a mulher ainda enfrenta comportamentos de controle e agressão que refletem uma sociedade que, em parte, ainda tolera esses abusos.	pt_BR
dc.description.abstract	Psychological violence is a type of abuse that happens through words and attitudes, having as its theme psychological suffering in women victims of violence, the work aims to talk about the root of violence, perception of violence by victims, the permanence in abusive relationships, mental disorders caused in victims of violence and the role of the psychology professional as support for victims of violence. The academic research was done through bibliographic review. Thus, Brazilian legislation, with emphasis on the Maria da Penha Law, defines psychological violence as any act that harms the emotional development and autonomy of women, compromising their mental health. Thus, it is observed that, despite advances, women still face control and aggression behaviors that reflect a society that, in part, still tolerates these abuses.	pt_BR
