VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA CONTRA A MULHER: “UM GRITO NO SILÊNCIO”

Abstract

This paper aims to approach and understand domestic violence against women, who ‘cries in silence’ for help, in the midst of a terrifying growth of this type of violence. This women, whose past is full of struggles and achievements, now face another challenge: stand up to the violence suffered in the privacy of their home. The goal of this paper in investigate which factors are being pointed out by researchers as crucial, and what role these factors play in the increase of the gender violence in the present days, as well as the legal ways to curb it. To better clarify this subject, a data compilation was used, through bibliographic research, with data originated from renowned authors, completed with official documents, such as laws and national and regional statistical data. The papers published in 2018 addresses reviews and focuses both victims, health professionals and aggressors. It is concluded that besides the promulgation of laws who aim to protect woman’s physical integrity, to reduce the violence and penalize the aggressor, another factors claim urgent attention, among which is the treatment of psychological aspects, both of the victim and of her aggressor.
