ARQUITETURA COMO ESPAÇO DE MEMÓRIA, SALVAGUARDA E VALOR : PROPOSTA DE CENTRO CULTURAL EM BARÃO DE COCAIS/MG

Abstract

The Cultural Heritage in the municipality of Barão de Cocais is studied and the threat suffered by it with the risk of breaking the Sul Superior dam, at the Gongo Soco mine. This study aims to collaborate and guarantee new ways of safeguarding the cultural assets of Coca, in addition to proposing the implementation of a project for a Cultural Center, as a memory space, which helps in the recognition, preservation and enhancement of the Cultural Heritage. It seeks to understand the types of goods found in the territory, municipal legislation and design references. The surveys are based on documentation from IPHAN, IEPHA, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Barão de Cocais and conversations with the maintainers of cultural assets. The study aims to deepen theory into practice and propose solutions using the main construction techniques and regional stylistic influences, analyzing issues related to architecture, urbanism and preservation.
