METODOLOGIA LEAN MANUFACTURING: Aplicação à indústria moveleira de pequeno porte

Abstract

This study discusses the Lean Manufacturing methodology, with the general objective of developing implementation in a small furniture industry and analyzing the results arising from its implementation, given its known relevance for increasing the operating result in the most diverse segments. In this same line of thought, initially, as specific objectives, a theoretical survey was carried out through a literature review, whose research is developed in a descriptive and explanatory way, with the purpose of acting as a basis for the development of the proposal, listing the five main tools commonly used, namely: 5S, Just in time, PDCA, spot management and Andon, followed by the analysis of the failures and strengths of the observed company, supporting the development of the implementation of the methodology in line with its real panorama. The case study, based on a furniture industry located in the municipality of Serra-ES, which has as its main objective its expansion, with challenges due to failures such as the demand for excessive time in stages of the production process and the inclusion of a stage without added value to the product, failures identified through observation and documents provided by the company. After the implementation of the methodology, its relevance for the optimization of the furniture industrial process proven, as its average production time was optimized on average 22.5%, meeting previously established expectations, which can be increased through implementation combined, continuously, with other coordination management tools.
