REABILITAÇÃO ESTÉTICO-FUNCIONAL COM AUTOTRANSPLANTE DENTÁRIO EM CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Abstract

This paper addresses the topic of autotransplantation in dentistry, a surgical technique involving the relocation of a tooth from its original position to another site within the same individual. Tooth loss due to decay or trauma is the most common indication for autotransplantation, considered a valuable option for the rehabilitation of lost teeth, especially in the anterior maxillary region. The success of the procedure relies on various factors, including the vitality of cells in the periodontal ligament, the shape of the receiving alveolus, and the vascularization of the recipient site. The study emphasizes the scarcity of research on the impact of autotransplantation on patients' lives. The methodology included searching specific databases between 2008 and 2023, using descriptors in both Portuguese and English. The theoretical framework covers concepts, indications, contraindications, and prognosis of autotransplantation, highlighting its viability, financial advantages, and biological benefits compared to other rehabilitation options. The discussion underscores the effectiveness of autotransplantation, especially in growing young patients, emphasizing its utility in situations where conventional dental implants are not advisable. The analysis also addresses the significance of the CAD/CAM system in refining the technique, providing enhanced precision and control.
