ACOLHIMENTO DOS PACIENTES LGBTQIA+ NO AMBIENTE HOSPITALAR

Abstract

The nursing professional's performance must be grounded in order to break the barriers of prejudice and discrimination in which the LBGTQIA + group suffers, so that they can be broken. It is important for professionals to be prepared so that they can offer humanized care in the correct way to the LGBTQIA+ population, respecting heir sexual and gender diversity. The act of welcoming the patient means humanizing the care, being a strategy to establish a relationship of trust between the patient and the health team. It is of paramount importance to combat this type of behavior and social exclusion, ensuring that everyone is treated equally and that they have access to health services. The objectives of this research are to describe the existing public policies regarding the care of the LGBTQIA+ public, as well as to identify the main difficulties in the care of the LGBTQIA+ population in the hospital environment and to analyze how the nursing reception for LGBTQIA+ patients occurs in the hospital environment.
