CONSEQUÊNCIAS DO ABANDONO AFETIVO NA PRIMEIRA INFÂNCIA

Abstract

Early childhood is the period of greatest neuroplasticity in the child's brain. In this scenario, there are numerous structures in development, one of which is the construction of affective bases. These are built from the intrauterine period. After birth, the emotional bond continues to develop in the relationship between the central caregiver and the baby. It is worth highlighting that this relationship, in this period of early childhood, is important, as it serves as a reference for the child to have other affective relationships throughout their development. Therefore, understanding the importance of building an emotional bond in the first years of life, it is worth reflecting on the consequences on the emotional development of children subjected to the experience of emotional abandonment. Thus, based on the Attachment Theory developed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth, the article in question aims to understand the possible attachment models to be developed in the relationship with the central caregiver. In addition to specifically understanding the predominant models in cases of emotional neglect. The formulation takes place through bibliographical research, using articles found in the Google Scholar tool and books that address Attachment Theory. In this way, it was possible to conclude that experiences of emotional abandonment in early childhood make the child more susceptible to the development of anxious-avoidant and ambivalent attachment models, in addition to compromising healthy mental development.
