Resumo: This paper deals with a problem faced by teachers and characteristic of Early Childhood Education, the rancidity of assistance in Early Childhood Education. Its main objective is to discuss some of the difficult relationship maintained by the tenuous line between caring and educating in this stage of Basic Education, focusing on the problem of welfare. The work presents the emergence of Infant Education up to the present day, dealing with Early Childhood Education as a right of the child and therefore, far beyond welfare. Concludes that assistance is a problem that still annoys many professionals in Early Childhood Education and that the best way to overcome this issue is to invest in the qualification of these professionals so that they make the community aware that they work that Early Childhood Education is a right of child and not their parents and guardians.
