A ATUAÇÃO DO ODONTOLEGISTA NA IDENTIFICAÇÃO HUMANA: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Abstract

Human identification is the means by which an individual's identity is determined. The forensic dentist works mainly in cases where the human being is in a serious state of putrefaction, charred, in corporal crime or accidents with a large number of victims. Teeth are body structures that can withstand extreme situations, such as high temperatures, without suffering significant deterioration. The objective of this work was to describe, through a literature review, the importance, effectiveness and role of the forensic dentist in human identification. Therefore we will carry out bibliographical analyzes on human identification in the area of Forensic Dentistry, highlighting possible techniques used and the importance of dental documentation.
