dc.descriptionO presente estudo analisa as violações de direitos humanos vivenciadas por mulheres mães e puérperas em privação de liberdade no Brasil. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de uma revisão sistemática de literatura, utilizando fontes bibliográficas e documentais, com a análise da legislação nacional e internacional, além de estudo de caso. O estudo identificou desafios significativos para a garantia dos direitos dessas mulheres, incluindo a precariedade no acesso à saúde, a fragilidade do vínculo materno-infantil, e a superlotação das unidades prisionais. Os resultados apontam para a urgência da implementação de políticas mais eficazes, que assegurem os direitos das mulheres encarceradas e de seus filhos, promovendo a humanização do sistema prisional e a reinserção social dessas mães.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractThis study examines the human rights violations faced by incarcerated women who are mothers and in the postpartum period in Brazil. The research employed a systematic literature review, drawing on bibliographic and documentary sources, complemented by an analysis of national and international legal frameworks and a case study. The findings reveal substantial challenges to the protection of these women’s rights, including inadequate access to healthcare, the erosion of the mother– child bond, and severe prison overcrowding. The results underscore the pressing need for the implementation of more effective public policies to safeguard the rights of incarcerated women and their children, fostering the humanization of the prison system and the social reintegration of these mothers.pt_BR
