A IMPORTÂNCIA DO ASSISTENTE SOCIAL NA REDE PÚBLICA DE EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA

Abstract

The school consists of a social environment in which each individual has their own reality, and the school's function is to prepare each of its students for life within a society, being necessary for this to occur with adequate performance, it is of paramount importance that within the school environment there are qualified professionals who go beyond the teaching staff. It is in this scenario that the importance of a professional trained to deal with the social issues inherent to education and that are exp erienced within school institutions is evident. Therefore, the present study consists of the result of the analysis of work developed on the insertion and role of the Social Worker within the Brazilian educational context, verifying its insertion within education policies, verifying the conclusions of scientific productions by some authors, whose main objective was to understand the importance of Social Workers within schools and how they should act according to current legislation within these organization s. Thus, we will seek to demonstrate how this professional can contribute together with the school multidisciplinary team, proposing methods and strategies through their technical knowledge, thus carrying out mediation between family/school/society. In addition, some of the challenges that Social Workers face within the school environment during their professional activities will be highlighted, and how this professional can contribute to actions that make education a practice of social inclusion, citizensh ip formation and social emancipation. Therefore, this article is based on bibliographical research on the subject, seeking to understand what some authors have discussed about the insertion of this professional within schools.
